Filmakers
Mark Maiocco and Michael Reinwald have been making feature films
and documentaries together since 1995. They left NYU with a small
amount of money and headed 180 miles south to Atlantic City where
they parlayed $3700 into $41,500. With this money they wrote,
produced, directed and edited their first feature film Treading
Water which won the Brooklyn Film Festival 1998 Grand
Prize. With no time to rest, they jumped into their next
project, a short called Goin to Make me Some Rent
which won the POV Magazine Dog Run Festival.
In early 1999 they ventured into documentary work, first with
The Mullet Uncut which took over a year to complete. While on
short haitus from The Mullet Uncut, they produced a full length
documentary titled Time Spent which was shot
on location at the Essex County Correctional Center in Middleton
Massachusettes. Time Spent has since been distributed. Michael
Reinwald has spent time in Los Angeles and New York as a producer
and now resides in Europe. Mark Maiocco hasn't been seen
or heard from since.
